I have been practicing orthopedic physical therapy for 15+ years, ever since I graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2007. In 2014, I attained my Postural Restoration™ certification (PRC™) from the Postural Restoration Institute®. This valuable training expanded my knowledge of the neuro-orthopedic connection, with the goal of improving outcomes for my patients with the benefit of a much more elevated lens than standard orthopedics.
Using the PRI™ techniques has enabled me to integrate all body systems into the therapy plan for each patient, including the neurologic, respiratory, circulatory, muscular, and vision systems. I coordinate with a variety of healthcare practitioners to achieve best results, including orthopedics, functional dentistry, behavioral optometry, naturopathy and many more.
My number one goal is to be a guide in your journey back to health with a holistic and integrative approach. I work with a variety of adult and youth patient cases, including but not limited to:
- Post-surgical and non-surgical joint and spine care
- Repetitive strain injuries
- Sports-related injuries
- Maximizing sports performance
- Respiratory dysfunction
- TMJ dysfunction
- Prenatal and postpartum care (external only)
- Sacroiliac dysfunction
- Vestibular/vertigo problems
- Headache/migraine
- Balance issues secondary to aging or neurologic disorder, such as Parkinson’s
- Gait/walking difficulty
When I’m not working with my patients, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three dogs. I actively participate in mountain biking, basketball, and strength training. I also enjoy reading adventure stories and books by authors who excel at story telling.
